The idea of deep learning AI tools for automated karyotyping wins €5K
On 18-20 October, the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Medical University of Lodz and Kaunas University of Technology organised the Innovation laboratory Smart-Up Lab.
The event was based on the concept of improving researchers, students and scientists in entrepreneurship in order to enable start-up groups to make innovations in major health-challenge environments. Students from all healthcare disciplines were welcome to apply with innovative solutions to everyday problems.
During the workshop, participants learned how to write a business plan, how to develop a product, how to pitch ideas and they also received valuable feedback from the group of coaches.
The most interesting ideas and prototype authors were awarded with financial aid to further implement their ideas.
The prizes and winners:
- 1st place – €5 000: A deep learning AI tool for automated karyotyping. Idea authors: Karolis Šablauskas and his team
- 2nd place – €3 000: Pulse oximeter in dental practise. Idea authors: Tomas Zamaliauskas, Roberta Zamaliauskienė, Živilė Grabliauskienė, Donatas Miklušis
- 3rd place – €2 000: Abili Balance Analyzer. Idea author: Aurelijus Domeika
