The Population Intelligence Lab (Pointlab) programme has identified the great potential of data and biomaterials from large population- and patient-based biobanks for innovative product development. Pointlab aims to collect, develop and implement tools and procedures needed to promote interactions between SMEs and biobanks to enhance both their societal and economic impact.

In 2018 Pointlab will focus on creating successful pilot projects. The project's Biobanking Competition will see start-ups and SMEs challenged to co-create a business plan for product development, using data and samples from biobanks. The business plan should describe how to extract optimal intelligence from biobanks within the legal, ethical and societal constraints. Those interested can register in this programme starting in February.

Is it for me?

We are looking for innovators who want to develop a product or service for active and healthy ageing and are interested in utilizing data in biobanks or concerning population health data.
